Regenerative Fibers in Practice: From Farm to Finished Product

Join NYFIC grantee Laura Sansone of New York Textile Lab for a conversation exploring the development of New York Climate Beneficial™ yarns and textiles, and the growing network of farmers, processors, manufacturers, and brands helping bring them to market.

Laura will be joined by Ben Wood, a farmer implementing Climate Beneficial™ land management practices and contributing fiber to the yarn development process, alongside NYFIC grantee Dan Kelleher of Adirondack Field, who will discuss how these materials are being translated into finished products and consumer-facing collections through the New York Carbon Farm Network cooperative model.

Together, the conversation will explore how regional fiber systems can support environmental stewardship, mid-scale manufacturing, and new product development across New York State.

You’ll come away with:

  • A deeper understanding of Climate Beneficial™ fiber production and verification

  • Insight into how farmers, mills, brands, and designers are collaborating across the supply chain

  • Real examples of New York-grown fibers moving into commercially viable yarns and products

  • Perspective on the opportunities and challenges of scaling regenerative textile systems in New York

Whether you are a farmer, designer, manufacturer, researcher, student, or simply curious about the future of regional textiles, this is an opportunity to learn, connect, and engage with others building New York’s fiber ecosystem.
