Don’t miss the Annual Carbon Farm Tour, organized by New York Fibershed in partnership with NYFIC grant awardee NY Textile Lab and the Carbon Farm Network.
During the event, visitors can connect with industry leaders and innovators, learn about carbon farming practices, tour the farm, and join conversations around the future of textiles.
The Q&A panel will feature representatives from Seed2Shirt, Nobletown Fiber Works, and the PA Flax Project, along with NYFIC grant awardee Melissa Conroy, Associate Professor at Cornell University.
Susan Easton, NYFIC Product & Marketing Director, will provide an overview of the NYSTAR-supported statewide program, including its upcoming round of grant funding, the Northeast Fiber Exchange (NEFX), and the forthcoming New York Supplier Directory.
Clyde Carpenter, NYFIC Textile Innovation Lab Manager, will introduce the soon-to-open lab at RPI in Troy, NY, and its capabilities for natural-fiber analysis, prototyping, and textile testing.
NYFIC grantee Stephanie Seal Brown will present her handwoven textiles, while Margot Becker will share textiles she wove for NYFIC grantee Nick Coyle’s project.
